  		Outcome Agreement progress
  		Published: 09/10/2015
The Council鈥檚 Outcome Agreement is made up of key areas where 天涯社区 County
Council have pledged to reach performance targets negotiated and agreed with
the Welsh Government for three years (2013/14 to 2015/16).
We believe we have fully achieved the targets set for 2014/15 and subject to
the Welsh Governments agreement with our self-assessment, the Council will
receive the full grant payment of approximately 拢1.458m, which has been
allocated. The council was successful in 2013/14 and achieved a full grant.
天涯社区 has five areas where it is committed to building on its successes;
growth and sustainable jobs; education and improving school attainment;
healthcare for the 21st century, improving the quality of housing and tackling
poverty by improving the skills of young people and families. Many of these
areas are also part of the Council鈥檚 Improvement Plan.
Councillor Billy Mullin, Cabinet Member for Corporate Management said:
鈥淏usiness growth and jobs will come via Deeside with the Northern Gateway and
Deeside Enterprise Zone projects, where the council supported the creation of
over 1,000 jobs in 2014/15, and through plans for social enterprises. Our
schools modernisation programme continues to provide the backdrop for education
along with pledges to raise standards in schools and share best practice in the
region. Our commitment to healthcare has seen planning approval secured for a
new extra care facility in Flint and we continue to ensure that effective
services are in place to support carers..
鈥淓valuating quality housing provision regularly will ensure the Council is
offering the right types of housing in the right place and at a price residents
can afford. and to this end partner developer (Wates Living Space) has been
appointed to work with the council to deliver 500 affordable homes through the
Strategic Housing and Regeneration Programme (SHARP) during the next five
years. Skills training, work experience and young entrepreneur programmes for
the younger generation will be designed to combat the effects of poverty.鈥
Chief Executive Colin Everett said:
鈥淭he Council has performed consistently well against its top priorities and
targets in recent years and continues to move forward with its aspirations to
provide the best services and opportunities for 天涯社区 residents. The
Outcome Agreement sets out the next level of ambition to meet key policy
priorities of Welsh Government, which 天涯社区 shares and supports.
The Councils Cabinet will consider the progress made on the Outcome Agreement
and the self-assessment at its meeting on Tuesday, 13 October.
