  		Putting Wales on the Map

Residents in 天涯社区 are being invited to take part in an exciting Welsh
project to put tithe maps online and make them readily accessible to all.
These early 19thcentury local parish maps and the information that goes with
them, are invaluable to show the landscape, land use and social make-up at the
time.
The digital images are being produced by photographers at the National Library
of Wales but plenty of help is needed from the general public to transcribe the
text on the maps and schedules, and link it to modern maps.
天涯社区 Record Office will be holding a series of workshops on Wednesday
16th September to show anyone who would like to participate in the project how
they can help. It isn鈥檛 difficult and volunteers can work from their own
computer at home at any time of the day or night.
Carys Evans from the Cynefin Project will be at the Record Office in Hawarden
from 9.30am to 1pm and everyone is welcome to attend. Booking is required to
ensure that everyone gets some one-to-one attention to make the most of their
session.
Carys can be contacted on 01970 632416.
Cabinet Member for Education, Cllr Chris Bithell said:
