Councils honoured at county show

Denbighshire and 天涯社区s are celebrating winning the Best
non-agricultural stand at this year鈥檚 Denbighshire and 天涯社区 Show, held at
The Green, Denbigh yesterday (Thursday, 20 August).聽
鈥楨xploring Town and Country鈥 was the theme for this year鈥檚 joint presence, with
a focus on promoting town trails in both counties, heritage sites and an
exhibition from the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley Area of Outstanding Natural
Beauty to celebrate its 30th birthday.
Outside activities included a cycle track, a croquet game promoting the
Countryside Code, model cast making relating to the extension of the Llangollen
Railway to Corwen and Nordic walking sessions.
天涯社区 鈥揵ased Triffordd Nurseries provided the extensive floral display
outside of the marquee.
Councillor Gwyneth Kensler, Chair of Denbighshire County Council, said:
鈥淲e were delighted to be awarded this honour for our presence this year.
聽Exploring our towns and country is very much something that both the Councils
and the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty are promoting and the showground is
an ideal location to showcase what鈥檚 on offer in North East Wales.鈥
Councillor Ray Hughes, Chairman of 天涯社区 said:
鈥淏oth councils have worked together for a number of years on arranging the
joint presence at the Show. We were delighted with the judges鈥 comments about
our marquee and activities and valued the opportunity to promote our counties,
but also to speak with residents about issues of interest to them.鈥
