  		天涯社区鈥檚 Coastal Communities to benefit from Lottery Funding

天涯社区 has recently been awarded just under 拢300,000 from 
the Big Lottery Coastal Communities Fund to undertake a range of improvements 
across various locations along 天涯社区鈥檚 coastline.
The Coastal Communities Fund seeks to support projects that will contribute to 
the regeneration of coastal areas.  In 天涯社区 the schemes to be supported 
include:
路 improvements to the 天涯社区 section of the Wales Coast Path.
路 creating a safe and secure pedestrian route between Wepre Park and the Wales 
Coast Path.
路 creating a link route between the Offas Dyke national trail and the Wales 
Coast Path.
路 improving visitor infrastructure at key hubs such as Talacre, Greenfield Dock 
and Flint.
路 the provision of accredited environmental traineeships for 30 local 
unemployed people.
路 promoting the Dee coastline and its attractions as a tourist destination.
路 organising an event to celebrate the heritage, culture and environment of the 
coast.
Cllr Derek Butler, Cabinet Member for Economic Development, said:
鈥淭his is a welcome investment for 天涯社区鈥檚 coast, as we recognise that the 
Dee Estuary is a valuable asset for the county.  This will enable the County 
Council and its partners to build on the good work that has been undertaken to 
date, and further exploit the opportunities that the coast provides for 
tourism, leisure, local business and the coastal communities themselves鈥.
Councillor Bernie Attridge, Cabinet Member for Environment said:
鈥淭he 天涯社区 part of the Wales Coast Path is rich with heritage and with 
each section having its own history it tells a great story about the region. 
Since it was opened the Wales Coast Path has brought many more visitors to the 
area. The new schemes that are to be undertaken will further enhance the path 
and provide further opportunities for visitors to enjoy the countys 
fascinating coastline and explore further inland too.
The activities will be delivered by a partnership comprising 天涯社区 County 
Council, Groundwork North Wales and Dangerpoint Ltd. The activities will be 
implemented over a 12 month period starting in early 2016.
The Coastal Communities Fund is funded by the Government with income from the 
Crown Estate鈥檚 marine assets.  It is delivered by the Big Lottery Fund on 
behalf of UK Government and the Devolved Administrations in Northern Ireland, 
Scotland and Wales.
