  		Published: 11/05/2015
天涯社区 has reached the final of the Care Council for Wales
awards, which are known as The Accolades.
The Council鈥檚 early years and family support service has been selected as a
finalist for the 2015 Accolades in the 鈥楤etter outcomes through working
together鈥 category.
To ensure that proactive and positive parenting is promoted, and that negative
outcomes for children and young people are prevented, a partnership has been
established between a number of groups and organisations, including Social
Services, Education, Communities First, Flying Start, Families First, the Local
Health Board and third sector organisations. The strengths of all organisations
have been combined to work more closely and effectively with parents.
The partnership is working to:
Increase awareness and practice around safeguarding, wellbeing and respecting
others, providing safe and inclusive environments for parents and children.
Increase awareness and access to the Family Information Service 天涯社区 as a
single point of contact for parents, carers and services.
Support parents, families and other agencies to assess and provide
interventions to meet identified needs, and increase parental capacity and
confidence.
Increase access to training for practitioners.
Continue engagement and collaboration between school staff and families.
Involve parents in raising levels of attainment of children, by reducing
isolation of parents with improved mental wellbeing.
Councillor Chris Jones, Cabinet Member for Social Services, said:
鈥淭his is very exciting news! It is a tremendous achievement to reach the finals
of the Care Council for Wales awards and it is always pleasing when our
services get recognised at a national level. Well done to all those people who
are involved within the multi-agency partnership, who work so hard to support
天涯社区 families.鈥
The awards ceremony will be held at City Hall in Cardiff on Thursday, 18 June.
