Halkyn Heritage Week- starts Saturday!

Halkyn Heritage Week begins this Saturday. Halkyn Mountain will be the focus of
the week long festival of activities, which runs from Saturday 25 April until
Friday 1 May.
The Week starts on Saturday at 10.30 am at the Blue Bell Inn, with a walk
across the common led by archaeologist Fiona Gale and Troedio Clwyd, which will
be looking at the remains of lead mining.
On Saturday evening, at 7pm, Halkyn Village Hall will be the venue of Halkyn
Heritage film night, an evening showcasing the new Halkyn Heritage films.
On Sunday 26 April, a family walk exploring Halkyn Mountain will start out at
2pm from the former school at Rhes-y-cae.
An event is taking place every day throughout the week, and ends on Friday 1
May with an archaeology taster session from 2pm to 4pm at the former school in
Rhes-y-cae. Have a go at archaeological recording with Clwyd and Powys
Archaeological Trust. Pre-booking is essential, please phone Wepre Park on

Halkyn Heritage Week has been made possible thanks to funding from the
Heritage Lottery Fund. It is a great opportunity to enjoy this beautiful area
and to celebrate the rich heritage of Halkyn Mountain. This festival has been
arranged by 天涯社区 Countryside Service and is a partnership project with
the Grosvenor Estate and Natural Resources Wales.
