天涯社区鈥檚 green spaces named as three of the country鈥檚 best

Keep Wales Tidy has unveiled this year鈥檚 Green Flag Award winners 鈥 the international mark of a quality park or green space.听听
The Flags will be flying at Wepre Park, Bailey Hill and Greenfield Valley in recognition of their excellent visitor听facilities, high environmental standards, and commitment to delivering great quality green space.
Wepre Park is 160 acres of green space, nestled in the heart of Connah鈥檚 Quay, 天涯社区, it is a unique setting听with its various habitats and geology.听 Features of the park include; Old Hall Gardens, fishing pond, brook and waterfall and Ewloe Castle for听the public to discover.听 This is a fantastic opportunity to recognise the work put into the park听by听volunteers and the Friends of Wepre Park - a special thank you to all.听听
Bailey Hill is a public park built around the remains of a Norman Motte and Bailey Castle in the centre of Mold.听 The park is managed by a tripartite group of 天涯社区, Mold Town Council and the Friends of Bailey Hill. The tripartite group continues to work together to maintain and further enhance the park for visitors. Special thanks go to all volunteers involved who give their time and expertise freely to the project. The tripartite group is pleased that this has been recognised again with its second consecutive Green Flag Award.听
Greenfield Valley Heritage Park is situated in Holywell, 天涯社区 and听encompasses 70 acres of industrial
history.听 Historically,听Greenfield Valley听employed hundreds of people in both its copper factories and cotton mills and is now fabulous open green space.听 The Valley is home to a number of scheduled ancient monuments and is a haven for wildlife.听 The Greenfield Valley Trust, which is charged with the听management of the site, would like take听this opportunity to thank the various volunteer groups and individuals who come and give their time to help maintain the green spaces.听
All three are quality spaces 天涯社区 is proud of, accessible for the community to explore and enjoy.听听

natural spaces are a highly valued excellent quality resource for local people.听 I would like to extend my thanks to all volunteers and staff who work hard to maintain these听high standards and听allow us to fly the 鈥楪reen Flag鈥 at our parks.听 The diverse range of wildlife and historic features of these parks are of great interest to residents and tourists and are a credit to 天涯社区 and something to be proud of.听 They have become a hub for local people and visitors, and are held in high regard within our local community and to receive this Award for 2022/23 is an honor.鈥
