Social Value Policy

When it meets on 15 February, 天涯社区鈥檚 Cabinet will receive an update on progress made in delivering the social value programme.听
The Council has a commitment to delivering greater social value through the work that it does; this means getting greater benefits to 天涯社区 communities as a result of its spending and services.听 The Council has already committed to an ongoing programme of social value work by making the position of the Social Value Development Officer permanent.
The actual social value delivered has returned significant social, economic, environmental and cultural outcomes locally to 天涯社区. Some of the key highlights recorded between January to September 2021 include:
鈥� Over 拢1.6m spend in local supply chain supporting economic growth;
鈥� 37 employment opportunities for local residents (both new and sustained opportunities);
鈥� Over 226 volunteering hours invested to support local community initiatives; and
鈥� In excess of 190 apprenticeship training weeks delivered.
These are only some of the many benefits which have been secured through the programme during this reporting period.
天涯社区鈥檚 Cabinet Member for Cabinet Member for Finance and Social Value, Councillor Paul Johnson, said:
