Consultation on improvements to A494 Aston Hill footpath
Published: 13/07/2021
Following a successful bid to the Welsh Government for funding to improve the Aston Hill footpath, 天涯社区 is inviting residents to have their say on the proposed improvements, which are intended to benefit both pedestrians and cyclists.
The scheme is part of a wider integrated transport proposal within the local area and the proposals will include footway widening, shared pedestrian-cycle facilities, new crossing points, lighting improvements, fencing and improved signage.
天涯社区鈥檚 Cabinet Member for Streetscene, Councillor Glyn Banks, said:
鈥淚鈥檓 pleased that the Welsh Government has awarded us the funding to carry out this much needed work.听 It will improve and upgrade the existing pedestrian footway between Ewloe Roundabout and Aston Road, turning it into a shared facility for both pedestrians and cyclists.听听
鈥淚t will also make the area safer by relocating the Old Aston Hill side road crossing point and by removing the localised pinch point at Aston Road.
鈥淲e need your views to help us to provide a 鈥榯ailor made鈥 scheme that meets the needs of the local community. 听We want to enhance the footway provision at this location and make our network safer and improve connectivity within the local area.鈥
In the current situation, we are unable to hold face-to-face consultation events.听 However, we do want to hear what you think about the proposals, so we are asking you to view the proposals online at www.flintshire.gov.uk and search for 鈥楢494 Aston Hill SUP鈥 where a short questionnaire has been included for your comments.
If you don鈥檛 have access to a computer, please call to register your views on: 01352 701234.听 The consultation opens on 16 July and runs until midnight on 9 August 2021.
