More improvements to Wales Coast Path

天涯社区 Engineers, Rights of Way and Countryside officers
have teamed up to create an alternative cycle path under the Hawarden Railway
Bridge in Shotton.
Following the bad storms over the past few years, an embankment was breached
which meant that the existing cycle path flooded every high tide.
Cllr Bernie Attridge, Deputy Leader of the Council and Cabinet member for
Environment, said:
鈥淲e were able to secure Wales Coast Path funding of 拢20,000 and our
contractors, G Lewis, have done a great job improving this footpath and
cycletrack. This work will continue as and when we can secure more funding,
This new improved route is a safe alternative and will benefit the local
community and the many people who make use of this path, including the cycling
charity Sustrans.鈥
