Connah鈥檚 Quay High School

Connah鈥檚 Quay High School welcomed visitors recently to see the progress of a major refurbishment programme for the school.
Phase 1 of the improvement works was completed at the end of last year and has transformed many learning spaces within the school.
Phase 2 is due for completion by the end of November 2019 and includes improved external cladding, the replacement of the Sports Hall roof, demolition of the existing administration block and refurbishment of accommodation to provide a new administration area and main entrance.
Senior officers of the Council and representatives from the contractors, Kier, were welcomed by the Deputy head teacher Mr John Colclough and the Chair of Governors, Cllr Andrew Dunbobbin, and given a tour of the building.
The work forms part of the Welsh Government鈥檚 21st Century Schools and Education Programme.

鈥淲e were pleased to welcome visitors to the site of Connah鈥檚 Quay High School. We are approaching the end of our build programme to deliver modern facilities for students at the school to enjoy and benefit from for years to come. Throughout the project Kier has actively collaborated with the local community through various forums. Over the two phases of the project we have held 30 events, engaging with over 2,300 pupils and created 19 work placements. Our current social value legacy for the project is valued at 拢10.5m, something which we are hugely proud of.鈥�
