North East Wales Social Enterprise Network Event a success

天涯社区 delivered a second social enterprise networking event recently.
The people who attended the event enjoyed an interesting line-up of speakers, including Katie Whitaker Moon and Adam Crane from University of Chester who spoke about internships and work-based learning opportunities.听 Linzi Jones of Digital Communities Wales introduced a new service delivered by Digital Health and Well-Being aimed at developing the skills for everyone to be able to get online regardless of their IT experience.
The group was also offered free training on how to create better videos and photographs to use on social media from Picturehouse Films.
天涯社区鈥檚 Cabinet Member for Economic Development, Councillor Derek Butler, said:
鈥淭his is the second social enterprise networking event held this year and 天涯社区 supports and encourages the contribution social enterprises are making to the economy and the impact they have on the lives of residents.鈥
天涯社区鈥檚 Mike Dodd, and Ann Carroll from ABC Performance Consulting gave an update on Social Enterprise Places accreditation that 天涯社区 is working towards on behalf of social enterprises.
The Social Enterprise Places Programme is run by Social Enterprise UK and recognises hotspots of social enterprise activity. The programme aims to promote, raise awareness, and build the markets for social enterprise at a local and national level.
