Gwladys Harrison, Chair Greenfield Valley Trust said;
鈥淭his is a truly exciting time for us. Having recently secured nearly 拢1m of Heritage Lottery funding, there has never been a better time for us to build on and strengthen our governance arrangements. Challenges include increasing patronage and income streams in a competitive attractions market, and managing within our means during a period of public sector financial austerity.
鈥淲e are confident of Greenfield Valley鈥檚 immense potential and for it be recognised on a par with other sites such as Shropshire鈥檚 Ironbridge Gorge.鈥
Cllr. Carolyn Thomas, Cabinet Member for Streetscene and Countryside said;
鈥溙煅纳缜 is proud to have Greenfield Valley Heritage Park within its heritage, open space and tourism offer. The Greenfield and greater Holywell areas are steeped in history and the Park is the central attraction for family and outdoor activity.
鈥淭he profile of the Heritage Park is growing through the combination of a significant Heritage Lottery Fund investment, and the joint efforts of the Trustees and the Council to promote access for residents and tourists alike.鈥
鈥淭he Council looks forward to working with the Board in the next important stage of the proud history of the Park.鈥
