New mobile service to launch as part of redesigned 天涯社区 Connects model

Published: 30/06/2026

A new 天涯社区 mobile service bringing face-to-face advice and support to more communities is launching this July.

Working alongside the mobile library, the new service will travel to towns and villages along the north coast and in the north-west and south-west of the county, making it easier for residents in rural areas to access help without needing to travel.

It forms part of a redesigned 天涯社区 Connects operating model, shaped by a full review of the service and extensive feedback from residents, staff and local partners.Graphic ENG.png

Over the past year, some Connects Centres have had to reduce opening hours because of staffing pressures. This review has helped the Council find a better way to keep the service running, reach more people and make sure support is available where it is needed most.

As part of the changes, the five existing Connects Centres in Buckley, Connah鈥檚 Quay, Flint, Mold and Holywell will continue to open part-time. Two new Connects locations will also be introduced at Deeside Leisure Centre and Saltney Community Centre, which will both open one day a week.

Together with the new mobile service, this means Connects will now be available in more places than ever before.

Councillor Linda Thomas, Cabinet Member for Customer and Corporate Services, said: 鈥淭he launch of our new mobile service is a big step forward for 天涯社区 Connects.

鈥淚t means we can reach people who have not had local support before and make it easier for residents to get the help they need. This new model is about being flexible, modern and focused on our communities.

鈥淲e thank residents for their patience while we have worked to minimise disruption, and we look forward to helping even more customers under the re-designed service.鈥

Residents can visit 天涯社区 Connects for advice on everything from housing, benefits and council tax, to waste and recycling, social care and planning.
