天涯社区 businesses invited to apply for up to £50,000 to improve town centre properties

Published: 02/04/2026

Town centre businesses across 天涯社区 can apply for grants of between 拢5,000 and 拢50,000 to improve their buildings under a new 天涯社区 initiative.

Applications are now being accepted for the Town Centre Property Improvement Grant (TCPIG) scheme, which is open to commercial property owners and tenants in Buckley, Connah鈥檚 Quay, Flint, Holywell, Mold, Queensferry, Saltney and Shotton.

Funded by the UK Government's Pride in Place Impact Fund (PiPIF), the scheme supports a wide range of capital improvement works, from shopfront renovations and new signage to structural repairs and energy efficiency upgrades 鈥 helping to make 天涯社区's high streets more attractive, reduce empty units and create new business opportunities.

The scheme involves a two-stage application process. Applicants first submit a short Expression of Interest (EOI), which is assessed for eligibility and strategic fit. Successful applicants are then invited to submit a full application, which is assessed by the Council鈥檚 Regeneration Panel.

Grants cover up to 70 per cent of eligible project costs, with applicants contributing a minimum of 30 per cent. The grant is paid in arrears on completion of approved works.

Eligible works include improvements to shopfronts, windows and doors, signage, external lighting, roofing, rainwater goods, rendering and stonework, and structural repairs. Internal works may also be eligible where they form part of a comprehensive external improvement package or involve a change of use.

Applicants must be commercial property owners or leaseholders with at least three years remaining on their lease. The scheme is open to independent businesses, SMEs, social enterprises, charities and community organisations. Residential properties are not eligible.

Businesses, tenants and property owners interested in applying should visit the TCPIG page on the 天涯社区 website to complete an Expression of Interest form. The Regeneration team is also available to discuss eligibility and offer pre-application support before you submit.
