天涯社区 signs Healthy Travel Charter

天涯社区 has pledged to promote healthier and more sustainable means of travel for staff and residents by signing the North Wales Healthy Travel Charter.
The Charter sets out a series of practical steps public sector organisations in Wales can take to encourage more walking, cycling and use of public transport, helping to support healthier lifestyles while reducing congestion and improving air quality.
In becoming the latest organisation in the region to sign up to the Charter, the Council is building on its ongoing work to support and enable more people to choose healthier, greener travel options.
The Charter sets out 15 commitments for organisations to work towards over a two-year period, from leadership and communication, to public transport, walking and cycling, agile working and ultra-low emission vehicles.
The Charter was signed by 天涯社区鈥檚 Chief Executive, Neal Cockerton, Chief Officer for Streetscene and Transportation, Katie Wilby.
Mr Cockerton said: 鈥淭he North Wales Healthy Travel Charter is a fantastic public sector initiative to improve physical and mental health, local air quality, and community connectivity in 天涯社区.
鈥淚t closely aligns with the Council鈥檚 carbon reduction and active travel priorities, enhancing the outcomes of those work streams and collaboration with other public sector bodies.

Councillor Glyn Banks, Cabinet Member for Waste and Transportation, added: 鈥淭his is about the Council鈥檚 commitment to making it easier for people to make healthy lifestyle changes.
