Residents invited to have their say on draft Housing Strategy

天涯社区 has launched a consultation on its draft Housing Strategy for 2025-2030, which sets out the听 long-term vision to deliver the homes that people want and need.
The last few years have seen significant changes, including an听 increase in the cost of living 听together with continuing demand for housing and increasing levels of homelessness.
The refreshed strategy sets out our long-term vision to deliver the homes that people want and need, and is built around the following 5 听priorities:
- Increasing supply to provide the right homes in the right location.
- Preventing and reduce homelessness, reducing the use of emergency/temporary accommodation.
- Supporting people to access, live and remain in the right type of home.
- Developing and invest in affordable housing and social housing.
- Making best use of existing stock, ensuring the mix of dwellings meets demand.
The strategy recognises some of the most significant challenges facing the county, including the rising number of people experiencing homelessness and the growing demand for temporary and emergency accommodation. It sets out how the Council and its partners plan to address these issues while also delivering on wider housing priorities.
The consultation is open for residents and stakeholders to complete until October 1, 2025 and is available online here.
