Funding secured for new fencing at 天涯社区 cemetery
Published: 04/09/2025
Work to install new fencing at Connah鈥檚 Quay cemetery will begin this autumn after 拢60k was granted by 天涯社区鈥檚 Capital Programme Board.
The existing boundary fences have been in disrepair for a number of years and, following incidents of vandalism and anti-social behaviour at the site in Bryn Road, funding has now been secured to remove and replace them with new, more secure fencing.
Work is scheduled to start in the coming months and will also include plans to refurbish the existing wrought iron gates, preserving their character while enhancing the overall security of the site.
Ted Palmer, Cabinet member for Highways, Assets and Public Protection, said: 鈥淭his investment is an important step in ensuring Connah鈥檚 Quay cemetery remains a respectful and peaceful place for family to visit loved ones. Replacing the boundary fencing and refurbishing the gates will not only improve the site but also help deter antisocial behaviour.鈥
The Council will ensure the works are carried out with minimal disruption to visitors and will provide further updates as the project progresses.
