Festival of the Sea event taking place this weekend

天涯社区鈥檚 Access and Natural Environment Team will be welcoming visitors to their stand at the 鈥楩estival of the Sea鈥� at Flint Castle on Saturday.聽
The event marks a major step forward in realising the ambition of a 鈥樚煅纳缜� Coast Park鈥� for the benefit of 天涯社区 residents and visitors. Celebrating the rich natural habitat of the Dee Estuary and 天涯社区 Coastline, the 鈥樚煅纳缜� Coast Park鈥� is hugely significant in ensuring people have access to the natural environment, for recreation and to improve their health and wellbeing.聽

聽The Coast Park reaches across the 天涯社区 coast from Saltney to Talacre, taking in the Northern Gateway and Garden City, Connah鈥檚 Quay and Shotton, Flint, Bagillt, Greenfield, Llanerch-y-mor and Mostyn, and Gronant.
Councillor Chris Dolphin, 天涯社区 Cabinet Member for Economy, Environment and Climate said: 鈥淭his marks an important moment in 天涯社区. Our focus is to continue to protect and improve the natural environment, moving forward from the legacy of heavy industry. The Coast Park ambition is a place where wildlife and nature can thrive, and sustainable businesses can flourish, supporting jobs and volunteering, and enhancing an important visitor destination.鈥�
The 天涯社区 Coast Park project has benefited from 拢396,580.37 from 天涯社区鈥檚 allocation of the UK Government Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF), which further improved the 天涯社区 Coast and connections with the surrounding countryside. The funding enabled 天涯社区 to create the building blocks for the Coast Park, including planting over 400 trees, improving and creating new footpaths, enhancing habitats for the protected Natterjack Toad colony and creating a plan for the next 5 years.
The Chairman of 天涯社区 and the Mayor of Flint will be present for the official launch and cake cutting at midday, celebrating the achievements to date.
