New Tourism Ambassador Scheme Launches in 天涯社区
Published: 07/07/2023
天涯社区 has recently launched a brand-new Tourism Ambassador Scheme just in time for the summer holidays. This free scheme is designed to improve the visitor experience by equipping people who work in tourism, work with visitors or live or study in the area with knowledge of 天涯社区鈥檚 fantastic offerings. People planning to visit 天涯社区 for their holiday can even complete the course in preparation for a wonderful trip.
A series of interactive online training modules with quizzes have been produced on various themes such as walking and the great outdoors, 天涯社区鈥檚 culture and heritage, food and drink, towns and shopping and sustainable tourism. Each module takes 15-30 minutes to complete.听
There are currently two levels of awards-bronze and silver depending on the number of modules completed. Additional modules will be developed to enable Ambassadors to reach a gold award. Each Ambassador will receive a certificate for the completion of each level. There are also online resources for people to download related documents, branding and links to relevant websites.
Cabinet Member for Climate Change and Economy, Councillor David Healey said:
鈥淭his scheme has proved very successful in our neighbouring North Wales counties, and we are proud to be bringing this resource to 天涯社区 to support the tourism sector.听
Ambassadors will help to communicate a consistent message about 天涯社区 and the diverse tourism activities and places of interest available in our county.听
The scheme offers a flexible approach for learners to attract Ambassadors from across the county and beyond. It is hoped local business will embrace the scheme and encourage staff to undertake the modules, particularly those working within the tourism sector.听
We are excited to launch this new scheme and encourage everyone with an interest in 天涯社区 to become a 天涯社区 Tourism Ambassador.鈥
Regular learning journeys will be offered to Ambassadors to further enhance their knowledge through site visits to places of interest within 天涯社区 and neighbouring authorities. The most recent journey took current Ambassadors back to the Roman era with a wonderful visit to the Roman Fort at Park in the Past in Hope. In the afternoon a ride on the train to the newly built Corwen station, followed by a tour of the town including a visit to the church and museum.听
The project has received funding through the Welsh Government Rural Communities - Rural Development Programme 2014-2020, which is funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and the Welsh Government.
