天涯社区 is pleased to announce that work is starting on another local school, hot on the heels of the announcement of capital funding secured for Ysgol Glan Aber.

Despite continuing austerity, the Council recognises the need to continually invest in our schools to ensure a positive learning experience for our young people.听 Investment has been secured for Castell Alun High School. 听

天涯社区, from its capital programme, is investing 拢5m in Castell Alun High School for a new Art and Design Technology teaching block and remodelled internal accommodation.听听 This work will create a new and inspiring learning space for both students and teachers as well as providing employment and learning opportunities for our community.

The Council has appointed Willmott Dixon to carry out the improvement work for Castell Alun High School.听

天涯社区鈥檚 Cabinet Member for Education and Youth, Councillor Ian Roberts, said:

鈥淭his further investment in our schools shows that 天涯社区, despite being a low funded council, is able to secure money to improve and update our schools.听 These improvements will provide a new and exciting learning experience for our students.鈥

Willmott Dixon鈥檚 Northern Operations Manager, Alistair Brymer, said:

鈥淲e know how important it is to create buildings that inspire children and teachers to new heights of educational attainment. We are delighted to have been selected as the contractor for this exciting project and we look forward to working with 天涯社区, Castell Alun High School and the local community to deliver an outstanding project.

鈥淲e believe in delivering projects that leave a lasting community legacy far beyond bricks and mortar.

鈥淲e have been awarded The Queen's Award for Enterprise in the category of Promoting Opportunity this year. Working with local supply chain partners wherever possible is a hugely important way in which we support the community and we are committed to creating local employment, apprenticeship and work experience opportunities.鈥
