天涯社区 continues its programme of building new Council homes for local residents. Recently the Cabinet Member for Housing, Councillor Bernie Attridge met the local councillor, Councillor Ron Davies at the the building site of nine new Council homes on the site of the former Melrose Centre in Shotton as part of the Council鈥檚 flagship Strategic Housing and Regeneration Programme (SHARP). SHARP has already provided new Council homes in Connah鈥檚 Quay, Flint, Mold and Leeswood. 天涯社区鈥檚 Cabinet Member for Housing, Councillor Bernie Attridge, said: 鈥淭his redevelopment is a strategic priority for the Council. The building had become a target for vandalism and anti-social behaviour after it closed, so it was demolished last year. We are now re-developing the site by building five 2-bed houses and four 1 and 2 bed apartments. 鈥淚鈥檓 really pleased that the Council is continuing to build new, quality homes for our residents.鈥 Councillor Ron Davies said: 鈥淚鈥檓 delighted that this development is happening in my ward. It will bring great improvements to the area along with all the Council house improvements currently taking place. I have to say that our contractors do a great job.鈥 The new Council homes are being built by the Council鈥檚 partner Wates Construction North.
