  		Published: 28/03/2018
The road improvements at the junction of A548 and A5026 in Bagillt are close to
completion.
天涯社区 secured funding from Welsh Government through the
Road Safety Grant for this scheme which will improve the safety of all road
users at this junction which has a historic collision record.
The new improvements include:
Changes to the lanes on the A548 approaches to the junction including the
introduction of splitter islands (raised traffic islands that separate traffic
in opposing directions of travel)
New traffic signals with a toucan crossing over the A548
Construction of cycle/footway to link crossing to All Wales Coastal Path
Closing of existing slip road from A548 onto A5026
Reduction of speed limit to 40mph
天涯社区鈥檚 Cabinet Member for Streetscene and Countryside,
Councillor Carolyn Thomas, said:
鈥淭hese improvements have been made possible thanks to a grant from Welsh
Government and they will make a huge difference to residents, road users and
visitors to Bagillt. The traffic lights, splitter islands and lowering of the
speed limit will make it much safer for people negotiating the junction and the
new cycle and footway will link to the All Wales Coast Path, an attraction for
both Bagillt residents and visitors alike.鈥
