  		Wales Regional Energy Efficiency Awards
  		Published: 05/03/2018
天涯社区 has had its work with vulnerable residents and those
in fuel poverty recognised at a national awards event.
The Wales Regional Energy Efficiency Awards were set up to celebrate good
practice in the energy efficiency sector and recognise excellence by the
private, public and voluntary sectors in their service to their local community.
天涯社区 won the 鈥淟ocal Authority Body of the Year鈥 award for
its domestic energy efficiency programmes and was Highly Commended in the
鈥淰ulnerable Customer Support Campaigner of the Year鈥 category for the support
it delivers to households in partnership with the North Wales Energy Advice
Centre.
These Awards reward one exceptional council or organisation, in each of the 11
regional areas around the UK, which has shown a true commitment to promoting
energy efficiency and reducing fuel poverty within their region.
The Healthy Homes Healthy People programme also received recognition in the
鈥淣ational Energy Action and Scottish Power Heat Hero Award鈥. Joanna Seymour,
the programme鈥檚 project manager, was one of only 15 winners chosen from across
England and Wales who recently attended a reception in the House of Commons.
Although she was nominated for this prestigious Award, Joanna wants to
reiterate that the success of the Healthy Homes Healthy People initiative is a
team effort and the award recognises the hard work of all members of the
Council鈥檚 Energy Efficiency Team.
天涯社区鈥檚 Cabinet Member for Housing, Councillor Bernie
Attridge, said:
鈥淚鈥檓 delighted that the Council鈥檚 hard work in this area has been recognised at
a national level. The recent harsh weather in 天涯社区 emphasises how
important this innovative work being done by the Council and its partners is.
We are able to offer a holistic multi-agency response to meeting the needs of
vulnerable households. By working with our network of partners, we will
continue to make a significant difference to those people who are living in
fuel poverty.
天涯社区鈥檚 Cabinet Member for Planning and Public Protection,
Councillor Chris Bithell, said:
鈥淭he Healthy Homes Healthy People programme, in particular, is recognised for
its ground breaking approach which takes a person-based approach to address
individual needs to improve their health and wellbeing. Congratulations to
Joanna and all the team on their fantastic work and on receiving this
prestigious national Award.鈥
