Aura and 天涯社区 announce major investment in Mold Leisure Centre

Aura Leisure and Libraries Limited, in partnership with 天涯社区 County
Council, is delighted to announce exciting plans for the re-development and
extension of the current fitness and leisure facilities at Mold Leisure Centre.
On 19 December 2017, the Council entered into a contract to invest 拢1.4 million
to double the size of the current fitness facility and to build an additional
studio. This will go some way to increase and sustain leisure services in Mold
and the surrounding areas as well as providing improved facilities for school
children which will help with increasing physical activity levels at a key age.
The new development will be financed through the Council鈥檚 prudential borrowing
scheme, with Aura paying back the borrowing, and demonstrates the Council鈥檚
commitment to improving services in more innovative and affordable ways, in
this instance with no cost to the Council as the scheme will be self-funded
over time.
Aura will manage and operate the newly extended services in line with its
vision to improve mental health and physical well-being. Aura is a charitable,
not-for-profit, employee owned organisation responsible for managing the
majority of 天涯社区 leisure centres and libraries.

I am delighted to see these improvements which I am sure will prove popular
with local pupils and residents. It鈥檚 great to see this continued investment
in the county鈥檚 sports and leisure facilities.
Tom Williams, Mold Leisure Centre Manager, said:
鈥淭he team at Mold Leisure Centre is immensely excited about the upcoming
development. This will enable us to expand on the services we currently provide
to the community and continue to cater for customers of all ages. The addition
of a second first floor studio and the expansion of the fitness suite will
support the delivery of new activities for both the community and the two
adjoining high schools.鈥�
