The artificial sports pitches at Hawarden High School and Mold Alun High School
have been replaced and upgraded as part of a substantial financial commitment
to play areas by 天涯社区.

Representatives of the Council and both schools met recently to celebrate this
exciting investment in these astro turf pitches which will enhance and benefit
both schools as well as the wider communities.

The Leader of the Council, Councillor Aaron Shotton, said:

The Council has made a clear commitment to maintaining and improving play
provision within the County and we will continue to invest in play areas and
synthetic sport pitches such as these. I am proud that 天涯社区 has taken
this bold step to protect such facilities for our residents to use and enjoy.

天涯社区s Cabinet Member for Education and Youth, Councillor
Ian Roberts, said:

I am delighted to see these improvements which I am sure will prove popular
with local pupils and residents.

Hawarden High Schools head teacher, Simon Budgen, said:

The school is very grateful for the financial support from 天涯社区 County
Council to enable this facility to be reopened to both the school and local
community. Having this fantastic facility really does add value to pupils
participation in sport and their physical education.
Head teacher of Mold Alun School, Jane Cooper, added:
We are delighted with the new surface for the artificial pitch and are very
grateful for the investment from 天涯社区. Students from both
Alun School and Ysgol Maes Garmon as well as members of the local community
will benefit from the upgrade to the sports facilities on the campus.

The Council is also investing in local play areas over the next three years.
Play areas in Flint, Ffynnongroyw, Connah鈥檚 Quay and Bagillt will each have
拢25,000 invested in them during the financial year 2017/18, with other play
areas receiving improvements in the following years.
